CASE 01
CROSS-ZERO was responsible for the planning, production, and operation of the annual awards ceremony, Player of the Year, hosted by a professional sports organization. The event was held as one of the league’s largest ceremonies, honoring the achievements of players, coaches, club officials, and others who performed outstandingly throughout the season. Several thousand fans and supporters attended, along with numerous members of the media. CROSS-ZERO provided end-to-end production, from concept development and stage direction to video production, program management, casting, and on-site operations, with the aim of enhancing the value of the sports organization and generating buzz.
While the traditional awards ceremony had emphasized formality and prestige, there was a growing need to further enhance fan engagement and expand media exposure. To evolve the event from a simple awards ceremony into an entertainment experience that fans and supporters could participate in, enjoy, and want to share, we designed a ceremony that fused sports and entertainment. The event featured an opening performance by a marching band, as well as a runway-style stage presentation inspired by fashion shows. We also created an ending performance in collaboration with artists. From talent fitting and makeup management to stage direction, video production, and audience flow planning, we designed every detail of the experience. The ceremony was produced as a platform for creating new value for fans, partners, and stakeholders.
The project renewed the conventional image of an “awards ceremony” and significantly elevated its appeal as a sports entertainment experience. It received strong praise from attendees and contributed to the highest level of media exposure in the event’s history. The direction, designed to bring out the appeal of the performers, also generated buzz, making the project a symbolic initiative that enhanced brand value and strengthened fan engagement.
CASE 02
CROSS-ZERO produced an employee general meeting and kickoff event for a fashion e-commerce company. The event was held as a large-scale internal event for approximately 2,000 employees, with the aim of sharing the company’s mid-term business plan and encouraging interaction among employees.
CROSS-ZERO handled everything from planning and direction design to video production and venue operations, creating an event that communicated the company’s philosophy and management direction through an experiential format.
As the company expanded and the number of employees increased, key challenges included instilling the company’s philosophy and management direction, while also fostering a stronger sense of unity among employees. The project also required creating an experience that exceeded employee expectations within a limited budget. To achieve this, we designed a seamless format in which both the general meeting and networking reception were held in the same venue. By progressing the program without a venue changeover, we maximized participants’ sense of immersion and unity. The event combined management policy presentations, video direction, awards programming, and interactive networking content to create a structure that allowed employees to naturally experience the company’s mid-term business plan. To achieve the greatest possible impact within the available budget, we optimized the event from both creative and operational perspectives.
The event contributed to the effective communication of management messages and the improvement of employee engagement. It received particularly strong praise for the sense of unity created throughout the venue and the quality of its operations. The event gave participants an opportunity to feel personally connected to the company’s future vision, helping to foster a stronger organizational culture.
CASE 03
CROSS-ZERO produced a real-world event for one of Japan’s largest online communities. The event was held as a large-scale gathering with approximately 10,000 participants, with the aim of encouraging interaction among members and enhancing community engagement.
CROSS-ZERO was responsible for planning, production, venue construction, and operations, bringing the community’s culture to life in a physical space.
As the number of community members increased, there was a need to strengthen relationships and a sense of unity that are difficult to create through online interaction alone.
At the same time, the circuit venue chosen for the event had limited experience hosting large-scale events, presenting various infrastructure and operational challenges. To address this, we built temporary stages and experiential areas within the circuit grounds, designing spaces where community members could interact with one another. We incorporated Japanese-style decorations inspired by the brand colors, bringing the community experience from the digital world into a real-world environment. We also focused heavily on safety management and visitor flow planning, enabling the smooth operation of an event with approximately 10,000 participants.
The event encouraged active communication among members and helped strengthen their sense of belonging to the community.
CROSS-ZERO’s speed in decision-making and flexible responsiveness were also highly praised, and the event became a symbolic project for the community.
CASE 04
CROSS-ZERO was responsible for the planning, production, and operation of the annual awards event, Player of the Year. The event was held as a symbolic occasion to conclude the sports organization’s first year, bringing together players, staff, sports organization representatives, partner companies, fans, and other stakeholders. CROSS-ZERO provided end-to-end support, from developing the event concept and stage direction to video production, program design, casting, and on-site operations. The project aimed to enhance the brand value of the new league while creating a platform that fostered pride and a sense of belonging among all stakeholders.
Because this was the first awards event ever held by the sports organization, there was no existing precedent or format. The structure of the event therefore had to be built from the ground up. With a wide range of stakeholders in attendance, including players, staff, sponsors, and fans, the event also needed to create meaningful value for each audience. As an awards event symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter in the league’s history, we designed a program that fused the energy of sports with the appeal of entertainment. We developed an integrated experience across stage structure, video direction, award recipient flow, and venue production, creating a stage that brought out the best in each award recipient. In particular, we adopted a cross-league award presentation format spanning both the men’s and women’s leagues, creating a symbolic moment in which the male and female MVPs were honored on the same stage. Through talent casting and media-conscious direction, we also worked to generate broader buzz around the event.
As the first-ever awards event, Player of the Year, the project received high praise. It provided not only award-winning players and stakeholders, but also partner companies and fans, with an opportunity to reaffirm the value of the league. The casting strategy also led to media exposure, contributing to greater awareness and brand building for the new league. The project became an important first step in creating a new culture that would come to symbolize the league in the years ahead.
CASE 05
CROSS-ZERO was responsible for the planning, production, and operation of an event held to support the overseas expansion of traditional crafts and other cultural products from across Japan. The event targeted the affluent market in Europe and was hosted at a luxury hotel in Europe. Approximately 200 local high-net-worth individuals and media representatives were invited to experience a special space featuring Japanese traditional performing arts, food culture, crafts, and more. CROSS-ZERO oversaw the entire project, from planning and spatial direction to production management and local operations, playing a key role in communicating the appeal of Japanese culture to the world.
While there was a strong need to introduce outstanding regional products and traditional crafts from across Japan to overseas markets, a simple exhibition alone was not enough to create sufficient appeal. In particular, for affluent European audiences, it was essential to communicate not only the products themselves, but also the culture and stories behind them as part of overall experience. We developed a concept that transformed the entire luxury hotel into a space for experiencing Japanese culture. Each room was given a different theme, featuring traditional performing arts, craft introductions and displays, Japanese cuisine, and other cultural experiences. All production materials, including invitations, brochures, venue signage, and exhibition captions, were created in French to ensure that local visitors could experience the event naturally and comfortably. From production management to on-site operations, we managed the project seamlessly to deliver a high-quality experience.
The event provided an opportunity to directly communicate the appeal of Japanese culture and regional products to affluent European audiences, receiving high praise from attendees. Rather than being a simple exhibition, it was well received as an immersive event where guests could experience Japanese culture itself. By smoothly managing an international project involving numerous production materials and stakeholders, CROSS-ZERO also earned strong trust from the client. The project became a symbolic example of CROSS-ZERO’s overseas production capabilities and its ability to drive high-quality production execution.
